UNIcert® at the Language Learning Center
The Language Learning Center at the University of Bonn offers its students the opportunity to obtain a UNIcert® certificate in addition to ECTS points in certain language modules. This foreign language certificate proves participants’ language skills in the areas of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, as well as written and oral production and is thus a significant document to have for future applications.
About UNIcert®
UNIcert® is a university-wide training and certification system accredited by the Association of Language Centers at Universities (AKS)1, to which more than 50 institutions belong. UNIcert® thus guarantees a comparable and high-quality level of foreign language education across university boundaries. To find out more details about UNIcert® teaching, learning and examination procedures, please refer to the examination regulations (i.e. official announcement nr 23 of August 21, 2017)2, as well as the amendments to regulations3.
Current UNIcert® programs
The Language Learning Center currently offers UNIcert® programs in the following languages and levels:
- English B1 (UNIcert I)
- French B1 (UNIcert I)
- Dutch B1 (UNIcert I)
- Swedish B1 (UNIcert I)
- Spanish B1 (UNIcert I)
- English B2 (UNIcert II)
- French B2 (UNIcert II)
- Spanish B2 (UNIcert II)
We are currently expanding the languages and levels at which we offer UNIcert®.
Registration and Procedure
To take the UNIcert® exam, students must successfully complete UNIcert® program (see examination regulations) in the corresponding language module at the SLZ. Once enrolled in a language module, students will be informed about the UNIcert® registration process.
Registration for UNIcert compatible courses
Application for admission to UNIcert examination: The application forms are available in the eCampus classrooms of the UNIcert compatible language modules.
Announcement of UNIcert examination results
The UNIcert examination results will be sent to you by mail.
Issuing of certificates
UNIcert certificates can be obtained at the SLZ secretary’s office (room 3.019). They will not be sent by mail.
